Me & My Shadows

....... In painting celebrity subjects I find that time is of the essence. My subjects never have enough time and I have to capture an expression that is unique to them in the first 15 minutes of a sitting. “Me And My Shadow’s 2” is of celebrity hairdresser and TV personality Joh Bailey. Joh is an icon of hairdressing and says that he is totally encompassed by his famous clients who, in turn, are idols to the media and have their every look and move scrutinised. I captured Joh on canvas showing him as the centre of his world, with his clients as shadows lurking around and over his shoulder.
